Since 1995, Planet Earth Poetry (PEP) has been providing a celebratory space for both established and emerging poets to launch their new work. That’s right, we’ve been supporting local and national poets in Victoria B.C. for nearly 30 years! Our work includes both weekly and monthly readings in accessible spaces, online Community Writing Practices, and the longest running community all-poetry open mic in the city! Over the years we’ve offered many educational programs, including: Poetry Master Classes, Poetry Workshops, Summer Poetry Retreats and our Poets in Schools program, and during the pandemic we created Poets Caravan, a digital archive of Southern Vancouver Island poets. We are always brainstorming fresh ways to bring poetry into our community where it is needed the most.
